Why We Built This Tool (Console Launch vs. Future PC Port)

Grand Theft Auto VI launches first on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 5 Pro, and Xbox Series X|S, with a PC version expected to follow Rockstar Games' historical staggered release window (as seen with GTA V and Red Dead Redemption 2).

Millions of console players need to know whether their current display supports HDMI 2.1 120Hz VRR and how much PCIe 4.0 M.2 NVMe SSD storage is required for pre-loading, while PC builders upgrading during Black Friday want to ensure their new GPU and CPU investments won't bottleneck when the PC edition arrives.

How Our Predictive Estimation Model Works

Because official PC system requirements have not yet been published by Rockstar Games, all PC frame-rate numbers on this website are clearly labeled as predictive architectural estimates derived from:

  • Console Baseline Parity: Comparing desktop and laptop GPUs directly against the known 10.28 TFLOPS RDNA 2 GPU in the base PS5 and the 16.7 TFLOPS RDNA 3/4 hybrid GPU in the PS5 Pro.
  • VRAM & Memory Bus Width: Modeling 128-bit vs. 192-bit vs. 256-bit memory bus throughput under heavy ray-traced global illumination (RTGI) and high-resolution texture streaming.
  • CPU L3 Cache Scaling: Weighting 3D V-Cache processors (such as Ryzen 7 7800X3D and 9800X3D) against dense open-world NPC and vehicle physics threads.
